After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Methodist College (now Methodist University), Lisa joined McFadyen & Sumner in 1985 and became a partner in 2007. Ask her why she’s spent her entire professional career here, and she’ll tell you the firm’s founders (David McFadyen and Brent Sumner) created a rare atmosphere where clients feel comfortable, and staff enjoy the camaraderie of their colleagues. “People are entrusting us with their financial information,” she says, “and it’s important that we have a connection and earn their confidence and respect.”
With specialized knowledge in business development and small business retirement plans, Lisa provides tax, accounting, and business consulting services to clients of all sizes in a variety of industries. She also heads up the marketing department for the firm.
Lisa is happy to have the opportunity to give back to her profession and the community – serving on the Accounting Advisory Committee for FTCC and the Board of Trustees for The Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County. She also actively supports organizations including Operation InAsMuch, Cape Fear Valley’s Friends of the Cancer Center, and the Duke Cancer Institute.
A die-hard Wolfpack fan, Lisa loves all kinds of music (she plays piano), shag dancing and the beach.
