Shelby Taylor, Staff Accountant I
Farming has been in Shelby Taylor’s family for generations. She grew up helping out on her father’s poultry farm in Lillington, NC. Watching the sacrifices her dad made to become a top producer in the region instilled a strong work ethic in Shelby and taught her to have pride in her work, whether in academia or her career.
Shelby says,“The work I do at TRP Sumner is very rewarding as it enhances my love of farming.” She’s committed to advancing her continuing education in financial tax accounting for agricultural clients. Shelby earned a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting and a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Finance from Campbell University.
Trent Williams, Staff Accountant II
Trent Williams developed a deep appreciation for farming from growing up in rural Sampson County, NC, where agriculture is the backbone of the economy. His interest heightened when he met his now fiancée, whose family runs a hog farm. During summers, he worked on their farm and was able to experience a successful farming operation firsthand.
“I love working in financial tax accounting for farming, as it gives me a chance to develop wonderful client relationships and allows me to develop strategies that serve families’ best interests,” says Trent. To expand his expertise, he has completed several continuing education courses related specifically to agri-business. Trey holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration in Accounting from Campbell University and a Master of Science in Accounting: Taxation from Liberty University.
Dylan Ward, Senior Tax Accountant
Dylan’s appreciation for farming comes from growing up in Louisiana, where many people shrimped and grew sugar cane – and, from understanding the vital impact of the farming industry as a whole, as it keeps our country and the world fed.
“Keith Raynor, our Team Leader, is a great mentor for us with his years of experience in agricultural tax and accounting,” says Dylan, adding that he was privileged to virtually attend the 2023 Agriculture Industry Conference held by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
